Column Post by Lakin Easterling “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.” Emily Dickinson I am relatively new to motherhood. I have a beautiful 22-month-old daughter, Belle. It feels like just yesterday I saw her tiny round fists and soft cheeks and wide eyes peeping at me from above the surgical […]

Compassion for the Unlovable (Especially My Mother)

May 3, 2012January 20, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 2 Comments Write Where It Hurts

Guest Post by Susan Tolles The Bible is full of stories about mercy and compassion. In the Old Testament, God showed compassion on mankind when He spared Noah and his family, when He led the Israelites out of Egypt in spite of their continued sin, and when he raised Lazarus from the dead. God’s ultimate […]

Column Post by Kelly Heuer I have a ridiculous sense of right and wrong. By that I mean that wrongs outrage me. Especially when they go unpunished or, worse, are accepted as the norm. I look at all the horrible things we do to each other, the awful things we are the victims of, and […]

The Hopeful Broken

Column Post by Laura Hyers Hope is a hard thing for me. Column Post by Lisa Easterling I am simply amazed by God’s perfect timing. Have you ever had moments where you were just completely in awe of Him and His perfect plan? Moments when your spirit bubbles over with so much joy you almost can’t contain it? It’s difficult to think about the perfection of His timing and the divinely […]

🌿 3 Quick Ways to Reclaim 30 Minutes TodayDo you ever feel like the clock is running your life instead of you? You’re not alone, friend. Most of us live in a time-starvation spiral — running fast, but still behind. But here’s the truth: you can create margin. Even today. Here are 3 quick ways to free up 30 minutes you didn’t know you had:✨ 1. Batch the errands.Instead of running out three times this week, combine the trips. Gas in the tank, time back in your pocket.✨ 2. Set a “faithful finish line.”Give your chores or email a timer. Tell yourself, “I’ll give this 20 minutes, then it’s done.” You’ll be surprised how much clarity comes when you stop giving everything unlimited access to your energy.✨ 3. Guard 10 minutes with God.Open your Bible app, whisper a prayer while folding laundry, or jot a verse on a sticky note. Those 10 minutes reset the whole day.🕊️ Little shifts create holy margin. And margin creates space for peace, presence, and joy.#unbusymePic Credit: © Yevgeniya131988 | Dreamstime.com ... See MoreSee Less

Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how appreciative Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how appreciative I am for the incredibleness of Lacey Jane.

With a maturity far beyond her years, yesterday she stood by my side and held my shaky hands for a surgery I have dreaded for months.

Surgery of any kind is a difficult ordeal for me, since my body often reacts unpredictably due to underlying health issues making recovery difficult.

But Step by step, prayer by prayer, we have successfully navigated the first 24 hours in a way that promises an effective and uncomplicated recovery! (Incredibly grateful to those who have also carried me with prayer!)

Hey guys — this post is at Lacey’s request. Hey guys — this post is at Lacey’s request.

Because I have always used social media as a mixture of work and personal life, a lot of you don’t personally know Lacey, but ironically many of you have prayed for her over the years. So she has a special request today for all of us:

Will you please pray for my dad, Luke? He has recently been (shockingly) diagnosed with Lukemia and is in the hospital for treatment. My dad is brave and knows God. He is a warrior but he also needs people praying for him! Also if you will please pray for his family there and his family here. Thank you very much. ❤️

I will say she landed on the opposite scale of dress style she had planned on. But it spoke to her and she looks beautiful. Pictures to come (after the prom 🤪).

If you've hit a wall, stop.

That's right, go ahead and stop right there. Find out what it takes for you to breathe in a healthy manner. And then, you begin again.

Maybe you take the same route but with more gear for the trip. Maybe you take a detour completely. But the most important thing is that you choose to begin again.
