The problem with promising God you’ll follow Him wherever He leads is that you just might have to go. I suspect it would be easier if you were certain of His calling—like stepping out the door and seeing the lilac bush on fire and hearing a voice commanding you. But when it’s your husband who […]
Write Where It Hurts
God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.
Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.
Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.
When craving approval has you chasing your tail
Column Post by Aj Luck We have a Golden Retriever named Carson. Occasionally Carson will glimpse something out of the corner of his eye and get all excited. It’s moving and must be caught, and the chase for his tail is on! Round and round he twirls in a feverish effort to catch it. Fearing […]
If you could see that you are a poet
Column Post by Lisa Easterling “Like the nectar of the bee, which turns to honey the dust of flowers, or like that liquor which converts lead into gold, the poet has a breath that fills out words, gives them light and color. He knows wherein consists their charm, and by what art enchanted structures may […]
Courage to climb every mountain
Column Post by Glenda Harbinson I recently found a new song by Bill and Karen Itzel that speaks to my heart. There was a time I used to pray God take the mountains out of my way Lord if you could make it easy for me I could be all you want me to be […]
When we are too busy thinking to thank
Column Post by Laura Hyers It’s pouring rain today inTampa. I love rain, and rainy days, but sometimes I think myself into a funk. Maybe you do the same thing, where you have no reason to be unhappy except that your brain simply can’t stop swirling around and over-thinking everything. Today has been one of […]
The curious benefit of writer’s block
Column Post by Lakin Easterling Frequently I struggle with doing anything on time. I procrastinate, yes, but it’s usually because I’m thinking: thinking of ways to word things, thinking of the best way to accomplish something, thinking of the most effective solution, how to achieve the most desirable outcome, or how to even begin. A […]
The black curtain of depression
Column Post by Beth Cranford My first recognized experience with depression happened when my first child was born. I felt like a black curtain suddenly descended over my whole life. A year later I was still fighting mild depression. My husband, still wanting to understand, asked if I could put into words what I felt […]
3 secrets to finding peace amid the storm
Column Post by Rita Schulte In John 16:33 Jesus tells the disciples they can have peace even in the midst of trouble. Since peace and trouble don’t seem to go together, what did Jesus mean? He wanted the disciples to understand that real, lasting peace had nothing to do with circumstances. Trouble is a given […]
How grace hems us in
Column Post by Lisa Easterling A week ago I set a fire I didn’t mean to set. I posted “Fifty Shades of Grace” with the best of intentions. Simply put, I was asking believers to stop biting one another, to consider the redemptive side of the book Fifty Shades of Grey. The post resulted in offending some […]
To know Him is to love Him
Column Post by Glenda Harbinson I grew up believing we’re supposed to read our Bibles every day, and best if we do it first thing in the morning. After all, time with our Savior should be our first priority, right? I don’t teach my children this. Allow me to explain. I believe my relationship with […]
