Column Post by Aj Luck “Mrs. Luck, I am here to repossess your car.” It was the day before Thanksgiving and I had just walked out of a thrift store with my young son when the stranger approached. I stood there in shock. Thankfully, my son had climbed into the car to play with his […]
Write Where It Hurts
God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.
Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.
Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.
When groans are all you’ve got

Column Post by Lisa Easterling “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will […]

When seasons turn
Column Post by Lakin Easterling From the heat of summer’s hazy rays to the warm and smoky colors of autumn; from the falling gem-hued leaves to the barren branches and sleeping, white earth; from the shoots of soft green, tender grass, new buds, and honey bees to the full-blown adulthood of a sultry year – […]
When words stalk you (and what they might be trying to say)
Column Post by Laura Hyers It’s funny how a single word can chase you around. And by funny, I mean really, really irritating. I feel like it’s God giving me that Father-grin of His and saying, “Hey, Laura, do you get it now? I mean, do you truly get it? Because I think this is important. And […]
When you care enough to give a love for words
Column Post by Lisa Easterling Are you creating a legacy that invites others into the wild and wonderful world of words? Do those around you see you writing in a journal, plotting out a book, outlining an essay, pondering a blog post? Are you showing them it’s okay to put their lives into words? And […]
Who told you that you aren’t good enough?
Column Post by Aj Luck Did you have a diary when you were a little girl? I did. Mine was pink with Holly Hobbie on it with a special lock and key; It was my safe place to record my most intimate thoughts. I was six. I often wonder what thoughts consumed me to the […]
The Secret of Baby Strength
Column Post by Lakin Easterling The weight of an afternoon falls heavy on mothering shoulders. We’ve been up with the sun, stretching food, pouring drinks, chasing messes, watching fingers close doors in fearless abandon. We create homes, we work, we scrub, we drive around and back again, we mend, discipline, and sometimes, we sit and […]
When words won’t come
Column Post by Laura Hyers What happens when you sit down, knowingly full of words, and they won’t come? Stubborn little things that they are, so big and full of emotion and feeling and memory—what happens when you want them out and they refuse, sit back and brace themselves and stay decidedly in? If you’re […]
How a story worded never dies
Column Post by Lisa Easterling Frequently in Scripture we see where God told His people to build memorials to His work, to set up stones commemorating what He’d done, how He’d delivered, how He’d provided. He wanted His people and those who came after them to remember His matchless power and limitless love for His […]
