Column Post by Beth Cranford When was the last time you spent a good chunk of quality time—with yourself? I can hear some of you saying, “Ha ha, wouldn’t that be nice! But it just isn’t going to happen. At least not until my youngest child is 18!” I hear you. The idea of significant time […]
Write Where It Hurts
God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.
Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.
Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.
What It (Really) Takes to Grow in Christ
For a few weeks now, I’ve hung out with some pretty neat gals as we’ve gathered together under the united effort of sharing the word about Mary DeMuth’s new book, Everything: What You Give and What You Gain to Become Like Jesus. Some call us a launch team; I call us friends who can’t help […]
How the ordinary of your story draws me in
Column Post by Lisa Easterling Your description of your here-and-now, while it may seem painfully mundane to you—well, to put it plainly, it’s a reader magnet. At least it is for me when I read the writings of others. I can’t resist. Word out your cat stretching long on the blanket beside you and the […]
How they will know we are His
Contributor Post by Glenda Harbinson My kids have a favorite book that never fails to leave us in stitches. My oldest daughter usually wins the battle over who gets to read simply because everyone loves to listen to her dramatic form. The story is about a pigeon and in the beginning pages the reader is […]
Where to run when dark voices whisper
Column Post by Laura Hyers A few weeks ago my husband was gone on a weekend retreat. The days up to him leaving were slammed with busyness and Thursday night found us getting home late to frantically do laundry and pack before we fell into bed where we got into an enormous argument. In the […]
Learning to be Unbound: Getting Started
Column Post by Lakin Easterling “Then Moses said to God, ‘If I come to the people of Israel…and they ask me, “What is his name?” what shall I say to them?’ God said to Moses, ‘I AM Who I AM.’” ~ Exodus 3:13, 14 {ESV} There’s a condition among the human race—one of curiosity, questions, and discovery. […]
When you face the fact that freedom takes work
Column Post by Beth Cranford Several months ago I read a book about insulin resistance. I was ready to lose some tummy fat, get my energy back, and feel good again. As I read, I began feeling empowered; I was feeling thinner already! This book was exactly what I needed and I was no longer […]
When words sting us into reality
Column Post by Aj Luck Have you ever heard a song lyric that stung with revelation? This week I heard Dara Maclean’s song, “Unreachable.” You’ve been waiting to be rescued from your shame But He was there before you called his name It got me thinking. Shame is subtle, seductive. It lures us into the […]
When you are ashamed of what you have said (or written)
Column Post by Lisa Easterling I picked up an old journal today. I found the passages I was specifically seeking, but I also found other things—the kind that crimson-tints the cheeks and makes a girl wonder why in the world she would ever write something so silly, so childish, so foolish. I forced myself to […]
When life burns Habanero hot
Contributor Post by Glenda Harbinson I’ve discovered a love for Habanero peppers. At first I tried them because someone I know loves them and I was curious. Then I discovered that while they certainly do burn going in, they taste awesome. While my mouth was on fire I remembered something I had read about capsaicin […]
