Look Past the Ugly

August 15, 2011March 7, 2014 Jo Ann Fore Leave a comment Encouragement for Everyday Life

“You just have to be willing to look past the ugly.” I’m not a big television fan, more of a book-freak. But HGTV has a series called the Property Brothers that I truly enjoy. Jonathan and Drew Scott come together to help people find and transform extreme fixer-uppers into their ultimate dream home. It’s a […]

Everlasting Love

August 14, 2011January 20, 2014 Jo Ann Fore Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Guest post by Maryleigh Joy Turner   For so long, I thought my sadness such a perpetual thing. There wasn’t any one particular thing that broke my heart; my heart seemingly broke voluntarily. I carried this deep sadness, so heavy and weighted with grief I could hardly stand to breathe and function under its weight. I […]

What’s Eating You?

August 14, 2011January 20, 2014 Jo Ann Fore Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Guest post by Gail McKenzie (Photo by Darrin Hoover) A food devil. That’s the feeling I get when I want to mindlessly eat, they are food devils. Relentless, little annoying feelings that don’t have any good end to them. Why do we eat emotionally? Why can’t we just stop it and lose the weight? All […]

The Sights and Sounds of Enabling

August 12, 2011January 20, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 1 Comment Write Where It Hurts

Have you sacrificed your own well being with the sole desire of saving your addict? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?  Have you tried everything you can think of to help your loved ones…to no avail?  Are you exhausted?  Do you feel helpless and hopeless; trapped by the knowledge that what you have been […]

I used to think pushing through exhaustion meant I was strong. So I kept going—until I had nothing left to give and wanted to walk away from some things I still loved. That’s when I learned the hard way what Michelle Bengtson shared in a recent post: Sometimes we don’t need to quit. We need to rest. Some days, I’m still learning to take a break without calling it a failure. Have you ever had to learn that lesson, too?#unbusyme#restoration ... See MoreSee Less

Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how appreciative Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how appreciative I am for the incredibleness of Lacey Jane.

With a maturity far beyond her years, yesterday she stood by my side and held my shaky hands for a surgery I have dreaded for months.

Surgery of any kind is a difficult ordeal for me, since my body often reacts unpredictably due to underlying health issues making recovery difficult.

But Step by step, prayer by prayer, we have successfully navigated the first 24 hours in a way that promises an effective and uncomplicated recovery! (Incredibly grateful to those who have also carried me with prayer!)

Hey guys — this post is at Lacey’s request. Hey guys — this post is at Lacey’s request.

Because I have always used social media as a mixture of work and personal life, a lot of you don’t personally know Lacey, but ironically many of you have prayed for her over the years. So she has a special request today for all of us:

Will you please pray for my dad, Luke? He has recently been (shockingly) diagnosed with Lukemia and is in the hospital for treatment. My dad is brave and knows God. He is a warrior but he also needs people praying for him! Also if you will please pray for his family there and his family here. Thank you very much. ❤️

I will say she landed on the opposite scale of dress style she had planned on. But it spoke to her and she looks beautiful. Pictures to come (after the prom 🤪).
