Finding Your Voice

Psssst … hey You. The beautiful woman with whom I’ve shared my heart over these past months.

I need your help.

There, I said it. Hard to admit for this recovering perfectionist whose life was long fashioned by the guilt-inducing mantra, If I ask for help, I will be seen as weak. And if I’m seen as weak, you won’t like me. And if you don’t like me, than well, I may just crumble.

Recovering is the operative word here, recovering perfectionist—for on my level-headed days {yes, I do have those more frequently now} I realize that’s not true. But I digress. Back to you.

I. Need. Your. Help.

You see, I’ve written this bookWhen A Woman Finds Her Voice: Overcoming Life’s Hurts & Using Your Story to Make a DifferenceAnd I believe its message will help women. Because it helped me. Changed my life when I realized that my own story held a healing power not just for me but others. Funny how God designs some things; those stories we’re scared to share, those are the very ones meant to be told.

I’m passionate about helping women overcome life’s hurts, helping them find their voice, so passionate I took the time {a lot of it} to write this book. Next to introducing you to my Savior, time is the greatest gift I have to offer you.

So, I had this clever idea that maybe, just maybe, we might be able to team together and help women find this book. Okay, maybe it wasn’t my idea originally. Maybe it was actually the brilliant Michael Hyatt who came up with the concept of using a unified group of “influencers” last year when he released his book, Platform. And maybe I’ve seen others follow this model successfully, like my friend and coach Holley Gerth as she walks this with a team that beautifully shares each week about God-sized Dreams. And maybe I’m really nothing more than an idea pirate.

Regardless.

I still need you. {I really do.}

If you like to encourage and inspire women, I invite you to be part of a team that will not only help share this heart-message with others but will connect you to an awesome group of peers, like-minded women of hope and influence from diverse backgrounds and different parts of the world.

Here’s the fun part—the benefits:

  • A free, electronic review copy of the book in advance of the publication date.
  • Team access in a Facebook Group. Private access to me, but much better than that, access to team members—women who are making a difference!
  • An honest to goodness, get-off-line and talk-on-the-phone group-chat prior to the launch of the book.
  • A shout-out with a link back to your website from our active community for women, Write Where It Hurts,
  • A 25% off discount on our upcoming teleseminar, When A Woman Finds Her Voice.
  • FREE Coaching and resources for finding and using your voice {whether you need help or are looking for tools to help others} on our private Facebook page.

 Here’s what we would ask from you:

  • Read the book {yep, you have to read it before you can tell others about it.}
  • Write a review on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, or others.
  • Help spread the word about the book to your existing platform {circle of influence} and beyond. Share on social media by tweeting/facebooking regularly about finding your voice using the hashtag #WhenAWomanFindsHerVoice
  • Brainstorm ideas and additional ways we can share this heart-message with even more women.
  • Participate in our weekly link-up on WriteWhereItHurts.com by writing posts on your blog about finding your voice.

If you want 2013 to be the year you find and use your voice, and encourage others to do the same {and oh, how I hope you do}, apply here. {Limit 101 women}.

UPDATE:

The response to the launch team idea overwhelmed me. You ladies are amazing! Simply amazing. The application process is now closed, and the team has been picked. {Cannot wait for you to meet them.}

You can still help though! Here are a few ways:

  1. Encourage others on Twitter, Facebook, etc. to take take a peek at the book, When A Woman Finds Her Voice.
  2. Read the book and post a review on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.
  3. Join the conversation at #WhenAWomanFindsHerVoice on both Twitter and Facebook.
  4. Never be afraid to find and use your voice.

The last one is most important to me. Your Creator has gifted you with a distinctive, life message to share with a specific group of people in a particular way, and I hope my book encourages you to do that.

  1. Thanks for stepping out there Jo Ann. It is hard to do but I know that what you have expressed here is the cry of many other women’s heart. They are struggling to find their voice and yet that tug and pull remains. I pray that as you find courage to share your story others will find theirs. Looking forward to reading the book.

    • Thank you for your encouragement, friend. And yes, the tug, the pull, I pray that we learn to pay better attention that for healing is tucked deep within. Thank you for your voice that encourages many others!
