Faith in the Fire

Column Post by Glenda Harbinson Today my daddy called me an almost perfect daughter. I know I’m not even close to perfect but I needed that sentiment after this difficult week. Considering how profoundly an earthly man could impact my heart, I began pondering the things God says to me in His Word—His love letter […]

Guest Post by Lisa Buffaloe My past is riddled with shattered places restored and made whole through God’s touch. Being honest enough with God to admit my own failures evoked His grace and mercy, so I can approach God’s throne clean and without sinful blemish. Whew! The remaining wounds where my body or soul was […]

When You Feel Forgotten

Column Post by Rita Schulte Hannah had a problem: She was barren and felt rejected by God. In Old Testament times barrenness was considered a disgrace, and Hannah wept bitterly over her affliction. To compound her problems, Hannah’s husband Elkanah had another wife, Peninnah, who was quite difficult. She despised Hannah out of jealousy over […]

Column Post by Lisa Easterling He’s the most loving and giving man I know. That I’ve ever known, actually. After all these years he gets mad at himself for what he took back then, wishes he could go back and make wiser decisions, wishes he could give those treasures back. But we don’t get to […]

Reflections

June 16, 2012January 20, 2014 Jo Ann Fore Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Guest Post by Susan Tolles I was blessed to have an earthly father who was a picture of my Heavenly Father. I often call him a saint for putting up with my mother, who was difficult to live with. He was patient, kind, wise and pleasant to be with. And though he rarely said “I […]

Column Post by Laura Hyers There are times when I take for granted the good relationship I have with my father, the influence he had on me as a child, and the level of involvement he continues to show in my life now that I’m married. But seeing the things that come to mind when […]

A Secret Message

June 14, 2012January 20, 2014 Jo Ann Fore Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Column Post by Lakin Easterling In the Bible in Genesis 22, there’s a story I never could quite wrap my head around. Abraham, father of none, has given up hope of ever being a father. But it is pleasing to God for Abraham to become a father, so God blesses him and his wife, Sarah, with […]

Column Post by Kelly Heuer When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul. The man who wrote this had just lost everything. In the span of two years, his only son […]

Column Post by Glenda Harbinson School plays, piano recitals, band concerts. From little girl to teenager, these were my moments in the spotlight, my time to shine. Every girl big or small wants her daddy there watching, cheering her on, pride glowing as his eyes follow her every move. I was no different. My heart […]

I used to think pushing through exhaustion meant I was strong. So I kept going—until I had nothing left to give and wanted to walk away from some things I still loved. That’s when I learned the hard way what Michelle Bengtson shared in a recent post: Sometimes we don’t need to quit. We need to rest. Some days, I’m still learning to take a break without calling it a failure. Have you ever had to learn that lesson, too?#unbusyme#restoration ... See MoreSee Less

Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how appreciative Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how appreciative I am for the incredibleness of Lacey Jane.

With a maturity far beyond her years, yesterday she stood by my side and held my shaky hands for a surgery I have dreaded for months.

Surgery of any kind is a difficult ordeal for me, since my body often reacts unpredictably due to underlying health issues making recovery difficult.

But Step by step, prayer by prayer, we have successfully navigated the first 24 hours in a way that promises an effective and uncomplicated recovery! (Incredibly grateful to those who have also carried me with prayer!)

Hey guys — this post is at Lacey’s request. Hey guys — this post is at Lacey’s request.

Because I have always used social media as a mixture of work and personal life, a lot of you don’t personally know Lacey, but ironically many of you have prayed for her over the years. So she has a special request today for all of us:

Will you please pray for my dad, Luke? He has recently been (shockingly) diagnosed with Lukemia and is in the hospital for treatment. My dad is brave and knows God. He is a warrior but he also needs people praying for him! Also if you will please pray for his family there and his family here. Thank you very much. ❤️

I will say she landed on the opposite scale of dress style she had planned on. But it spoke to her and she looks beautiful. Pictures to come (after the prom 🤪).
