Column Post by Aj Luck The tiny girl wasn’t breathing when her parents approached her bassinet on an early winter morning. It was sometime in the night when she had taken her final breath alone. Frantic. Hysterical. Desperate. Mama did CPR while Daddy called 9-1-1. They couldn’t revive their precious little girl. Angry. Confused. Numb. […]
Write Where It Hurts
God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.
Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.
Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.
When you just need a Real Life touch
Nothing replaces a hug. A real, live, smooshie hug. Technology has made connecting so much easier for us, sometimes we forget how important it is to actually touch. Do you have friends you don’t get to hug enough? I know I do. Here’s the cool thing: (in)courage is doing something to get everyone up close […]
When it’s all the things keeping you awake

Column Post by Laura Hyers I got three hours of sleep last night. I don’t say this in the proud way I once did—because I procrastinated and pulled an all-nighter and got some college project done in the nick of time. I say this after a full day of taking care of little ones who […]
When you’d rather dance in the rainstorm
Column Post by Aj Luck If you’re like me, your umbrella is safely at home on rainy days when you are not. This past week, my life has been one of those rainstorms. Fear, doubt, worry, and anxiety poured out, pelting against my heart and causing me to be fretful and mistrusting of the very […]
When God gives you a word anyway
Column Post by Lisa Easterling I didn’t ask for a word this year. Not that I dislike the idea: In 2011 I “simplified”, and in 2012 God was “stirring”. But I decided that this year I was simply going to spend more time in prayer and the Word and not ask for a theme word […]
When you want something different this year
Column Post by Laura Hyers The new year always brings out the most ambitious part of me: the one that plans to make big changes and promise big things and follow through on everything. Come February, I am normally still fairly determined (albeit a little disillusioned), and by the beginning of the summer I am altogether […]
The theory of resolution lists
Column Post by Aj Luck I can’t help but wonder, today being the day after New Year’s Day: Did you make a resolution list? We’re 24 hours in. How’s it going so far? I have to be honest and admit I never make a resolution list. Each year I set out to write “the list”, […]
When you know it’s all right to reach for His hand
Column Post by Lisa Easterling It’s the last day of 2012. The very last day. I hope it’s okay that I am breathing a sigh of relief that this year is over and 2013 is less than one giant sleep for mankind away. My favorite number is 13. It’s a number held by many in […]
When you know you can curl up in His promises
Column Post by Laura Hyers I’m someone who likes to be comfortable. My default position on my couch or in bed is either sprawled out or curled up, and my poor husband has tried his best to adjust to sleeping with a starfish and/or a balled-up person. It’s just that I am happiest when I […]
A belated gift from me to you
Column Post by Aj Luck It’s the day after Christmas. How are you feeling? Did you sing songs of Peace on Earth, yet struggle with Peace inside your heart? Did you sit at king-sized feasts surrounded by family and friends, or simply struggle to put food on your own table? Maybe you found yourself alone, […]
