Write Where It Hurts

God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.

Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.

Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.

How to Get Back Up Again

Did you know it is possible to survive a freefall from the Willis Tower in Chicago or a skydive with a failed parachute? It will hurt, and it will take some time to heal, but it is possible. Our lives can be a lot like that freefall, but we can survive whatever challenges God puts […]

Healing Our Wounds by Stepping into Our Scars

August 5, 2013March 7, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 10 Comments Write Where It Hurts

Life leaves scars—we all have our stories. But scars shouldn’t hurt, shouldn’t be a fresh pain. Properly healed scars are closed, insensitive to touch. A faint reminder of something that once was. I have places on my body from bike wrecks, surgeries, and maybe even a dog bite, but those wounds are healed, closed off […]

When Rain Washes Away the Dirt {the real dirt}

July 26, 2013March 7, 2014 Tammy Strait 6 Comments Write Where It Hurts

Thunder groans through a grey streaked sky. Ominous dark, shoulders in. Rain. Drenching summer rain. It’s like that sometimes. Life: cloudy skies and threatening storms, a seemingly endless pouring rain. And just when one storm passes another rolls in behind. We watch. We wait. We crash like lightning. Sometimes no matter what we do, no […]

Finding Your Voice

Psssst … hey You. The beautiful woman with whom I’ve shared my heart over these past months. I need your help. There, I said it. Hard to admit for this recovering perfectionist whose life was long fashioned by the guilt-inducing mantra, If I ask for help, I will be seen as weak. And if I’m […]

When You’re Willing to Look Past the Ugly

July 22, 2013March 7, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 3 Comments Write Where It Hurts

I’m a book-freak—not a big television fan. But I love DIY shows {those brave do-it-yourselfers simply captivate me} and HGTV has a series called The Property Brothers that is one of my favorites. Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott come together to help folks find extreme fixer-uppers they can afford, and then transform them into the client’s […]

I’m Not That Girl Anymore

July 17, 2013March 7, 2014 Tammy Strait 8 Comments Write Where It Hurts

` You don’t know me. I’m not that girl anymore. The one who used to listen when you came for me in the darkness, when you haunted me in my sleep. Kept me awake at night with your lies, your untruth, your malicious scheming ways. I believed you. Believed I wasn’t enough. Dirty, unwanted, rejected, […]

🌿 3 Quick Ways to Reclaim 30 Minutes TodayDo you ever feel like the clock is running your life instead of you? You’re not alone, friend. Most of us live in a time-starvation spiral — running fast, but still behind. But here’s the truth: you can create margin. Even today. Here are 3 quick ways to free up 30 minutes you didn’t know you had:✨ 1. Batch the errands.Instead of running out three times this week, combine the trips. Gas in the tank, time back in your pocket.✨ 2. Set a “faithful finish line.”Give your chores or email a timer. Tell yourself, “I’ll give this 20 minutes, then it’s done.” You’ll be surprised how much clarity comes when you stop giving everything unlimited access to your energy.✨ 3. Guard 10 minutes with God.Open your Bible app, whisper a prayer while folding laundry, or jot a verse on a sticky note. Those 10 minutes reset the whole day.🕊️ Little shifts create holy margin. And margin creates space for peace, presence, and joy.#unbusymePic Credit: © Yevgeniya131988 | Dreamstime.com ... See MoreSee Less

I will say she landed on the opposite scale of dress style she had planned on. But it spoke to her and she looks beautiful. Pictures to come (after the prom 🤪).

If you've hit a wall, stop.

That's right, go ahead and stop right there. Find out what it takes for you to breathe in a healthy manner. And then, you begin again.

Maybe you take the same route but with more gear for the trip. Maybe you take a detour completely. But the most important thing is that you choose to begin again.
