Write Where It Hurts

God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.

Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.

Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.

How Can I Enforce Healthy Boundaries?

May 6, 2013March 8, 2014 Rita Schulte Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Reader Question: How do I explain my boundaries with my family to those who think because I am a Christian, I should not have these boundaries? These are boundaries that have not been put in place lightly, ones I have dedicated to prayer and I feel they are appropriate and needed. But I am constantly […]

Will I Ever Get Over this Pain?

May 2, 2013March 8, 2014 Rita Schulte Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Question: Will there ever be a day on this earth, in this lifetime, where yet another layer of healing doesn’t unravel me?  Elizabeth, I am so sorry for your pain. If we are honest, we know that suffering and sorrow are inevitable parts of life. Loved ones die. Dreams crumble. We lose things that were […]

This Weaving of Words Knit Deep in our Hearts

April 29, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 5 Comments Write Where It Hurts

It was around 1993 when I established a writer’s group I called Wordweavers. I found out a year or so ago that the name has since been copyrighted by someone else, so sadly I can only refer to my own “Wordweavers” outside of that official name. My mission was to provide a group where writers […]

Is There Any Hope for Me?

April 25, 2013March 8, 2014 Rita Schulte 2 Comments Write Where It Hurts

Question: I’ve spent much of my life in various forms of counseling or therapy. My parents split up when I was a mere six months old, then my grandfather died and my grandmother took me to a foreign country, leaving me there to live with an aunt and uncle I’d never even met. This was […]

Ask the Counselor

April 24, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 3 Comments Write Where It Hurts

We’re excited to launch our new column, Ask the Counselor, this week. We recognize that there are those days we may need a little more help than those around us are equipped to provide. And while this column isn’t intended to replace any needed professional counseling, we wanted to give you the chance to submit […]

How Sadness Always Hints of Hope

April 22, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 4 Comments Write Where It Hurts

Daddy sang sad songs to me in the car. I was four and then five, and I begged him to sing them one after another as I cried in the seat beside him. There was no safety belt save for his arm that shot lightning-fast across my mid-section if he sensed danger. In spite of […]

When Life’s Hurts Press {Too} Real

April 8, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 4 Comments Write Where It Hurts

I spend my days pushing Hope. With friends who have lost jobs, who battle eating disorders, who are in rotten relationships, I listen hard and nod understandingly—I know the pain a little too well. As we sit square in life’s messiness, I’m generous with my Hope as I gently nudge them to be brave in the […]

Where my help comes from

April 1, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 4 Comments Write Where It Hurts

I hear it often, the “Why, God?” that echoes down hallways and into the nothing where it seems no one hears. I feel it in my own body, the ache that won’t be soothed because the hurt is just too deep. Their pain resonates with me, because I have been there, too. I think of […]

When the Truth (Really) Sets You Free

March 28, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore 1 Comment Write Where It Hurts

by Rita Schulte Lance Armstrong has come clean. In a two-part interview with Oprah Winfrey, he shared candidly about his fall from grace and how he wants to rebuild his reputation for the sake of his kids. The interview stirs controversy. Many see him as a narcissist, and totally disingenuous. Many question his sincerity, wonder […]

Dear God, it’s lonely out here on the porch

March 25, 2013March 8, 2014 Jo Ann Fore Leave a comment Write Where It Hurts

Dear God, I’m trying hard not to be ungrateful. You bless me so much, you have given so much for me, you are always there for me. I don’t mean to complain, but it’s lonely out here on the porch. It isn’t like I’m angry that there’s a party going on inside. I’m glad for […]

🌿 3 Quick Ways to Reclaim 30 Minutes TodayDo you ever feel like the clock is running your life instead of you? You’re not alone, friend. Most of us live in a time-starvation spiral — running fast, but still behind. But here’s the truth: you can create margin. Even today. Here are 3 quick ways to free up 30 minutes you didn’t know you had:✨ 1. Batch the errands.Instead of running out three times this week, combine the trips. Gas in the tank, time back in your pocket.✨ 2. Set a “faithful finish line.”Give your chores or email a timer. Tell yourself, “I’ll give this 20 minutes, then it’s done.” You’ll be surprised how much clarity comes when you stop giving everything unlimited access to your energy.✨ 3. Guard 10 minutes with God.Open your Bible app, whisper a prayer while folding laundry, or jot a verse on a sticky note. Those 10 minutes reset the whole day.🕊️ Little shifts create holy margin. And margin creates space for peace, presence, and joy.#unbusymePic Credit: © Yevgeniya131988 | Dreamstime.com ... See MoreSee Less

I will say she landed on the opposite scale of dress style she had planned on. But it spoke to her and she looks beautiful. Pictures to come (after the prom 🤪).

If you've hit a wall, stop.

That's right, go ahead and stop right there. Find out what it takes for you to breathe in a healthy manner. And then, you begin again.

Maybe you take the same route but with more gear for the trip. Maybe you take a detour completely. But the most important thing is that you choose to begin again.
