Guest post by Thecia Jenkins Have you ever wondered what we did before bottled water? Most people prefer bottled water; according to the New York Times in 2008 there were 8.8 million gallons sold here in the United States. Over eight millions gallons! Have we fallen into a pattern, a mindset? I think of the woman […]
Write Where It Hurts
God has used writing in my life in a powerful way. As a word-lover, an author, I’ve learned this, how sometimes we write for publication, yes, but how sometimes we write simply to reconcile. To uncover truths and connect dots in ways that sometimes aren’t possible until we sit quiet with the pressing questions.
Today, I’m passionate about writing as a healing tool. You’ll find Write Where It Hurts a connection point, an invitation to women and conversations that bring healing. We need that, don’t we? A place where can we can drop all the masks and cut through the hard stuff.
Come join us. In our online community here, you’ll find hope, encouragement, and practical tools along with a challenge to live intentionally. Pull up a chair. Grab a spot of tea, or your favorite java. Be encouraged and inspired as you connect with other brave-hearted women who have faced unfathomable trials with courage. Risk the writing challenges, and be rewarded with a fresh perspective of your own.
Under the Influence: Redeeming My Father’s Past
Guest post by Kate Powers Today I sat while my toddler played with blocks. He built something then proudly displayed his product, informing me what it was. I love his imagination and creativity. Such joy to engage in these conversations with him, bookended in his loving nuzzles. At times, it takes me I back to […]
Faithful Unto Death
Guest post by Groshonda McDonald “In pain, grief, affliction, and loss, it often helps to write our feelings…not just feel them. Putting words on paper seems to free our feelings from the lonely prison of our souls,” Charles Swindoll said. No truer words could apply to my journaling. Journaling opened up the door, first and foremost, […]
Silver Linings

Guest post by Alyssa Avant Minus bringing my children into the world, running a thriving online business is my greatest accomplishment. Satisfied clients, finished deadlines, and constant new projects excite me, no matter how stressful the week. “I don’t know how you do what you do,” people say to me. Truth is, often times […]
Last Kid Picked

Guest post by Beth Jones Short, skinny, and not very fast in elementary school, I was always an unlikely candidate to be chosen for either kickball team. I watched from the sidelines as popular children were quickly picked for Team A or Team B. After the elect were chosen, I waited with the others, the kids […]
Lost Art of Gratitude
Guest post by Kate Powers Growing up in an alcoholic home left me at a desperate crossroads at the age of thirteen. In pure desperation, I asked God for help—a solution, path, or sign, anything to guide my journey. It was clear I couldn’t do it alone! God heard my plea for help. He worked […]
Which is More Fun?
Guest post by camille gaines retweet Which is more fun…to grow money or to spend it? They are both pretty nice! Growing money ultimately leads to living the rich life we want, focused on what really, really matters. Spending money is more about immediate gratification. What I really like to do, though, is to show women how […]
Road Trip in a Red Convertible
There are many milestones in life for a woman—first date, engagement and marriage, becoming a mother, sending our little ones off to school. But nothing compares to the “perfect storm” that brews at fifty years of age. Most women (at 50) experience “empty nest,” while facing peri-menopause. No matter how well prepared you think you […]
Meeting God In the Messiness
Guest post by Beth Jones Recently I bought Jo Ann Fore’s journal, Write Where It Hurts. When it arrived, I thumbed through it with excitement. The glossy cover was beautifully decorated in green, my favorite color, and the pages were a crisp white. The journal extended an immediate invitation: Grab your black, ultra-fine Sharpie and write […]
God Confidence
Guest post by Kate Powers Most of my life I struggled with self-confidence issues. I grew up believing our family troubles were my fault, that I was too fat to be loved, and that I was a terrible writer. These false beliefs were stirred by the opinions of others that I took on as […]
